This past week, Backyard Sports Cares hosted two separate groups of deserving campers at Brant Lake Camp, a private summer camp in the Adirondacks. BYSC hosted thirty school-aged children from the New Flex Foundation of Mt. Vernon, and seven residents from the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester, a rehabilitation program offering teenagers a second chance alternative to incarceration.
The visitors were treated to a full regimen of typical summer camping activity including sports, swimming, cookouts, campfires, hiking, and bunk life.
Brant Lake is a third-generation sleep-away camp owned and operated by the Gersten Family. This is the fifth summer Brant Lake has opened their campus to this program.
Once again Backyard Sports and the White Plains Youth Bureau collaborated to provide a Summer Field Day for nearly 200 youngsters who are part of the Bureau’s Bits and Pieces Camp.
