BYSC Open House at Saxon Woods

On September 27th, Backyard Sports Cares (BYSC) played coach and host to more than 35 families at the organization’s first BBQ “Open House”.

Hosted at the Saxon Woods Golf Course in Scarsdale, NY, the event served to educate Westchester families about volunteer and funding opportunities available through BYSC.  And, more importantly, about 100 moms, dads and kids experienced how Backyard Sports Cares bridges communities through team sports.

Teen volunteers from Scarsdale and Mamaroneck high schools, along with BYSC’ junior board members, served as event ambassadors, communicating their important roles as part of BYSC’s sports programming in under-served communities and special needs programs.

The Open House featured three key programs in need of volunteers and funding:

    1. Special need volunteers on Sundays
    2. Friday night Tennis programs for at risk youth
    3. Backyard Sports Soccer League for at risk youth
