Every Saturday Backyard Sports Cares hosts soccer games for kids in grades 3 to 5. These kids come from all over Westchester. We noticed that one of the teams from Yonkers were playing in sneakers because they had no cleats. We reached out to our close friend Christian Lopez at Modell’s who agreed to generously donate more than a dozen pairs of cleats to the children. The following Wednesday we packed up the kids on a bus after their soccer practice and took them shopping. All the children picked out their favorite pair before we headed to Pizza Beat for a celebratory club dinner. The staff at Pizza Beat could not have been more caring and cooperative with such a big group of enthisiastic kids. Huge thanks to the staff at Modell’s and Pizza Beat for making sure the kids had a blast!
