In what has become an annual tradition, on Friday, October 20, young men from the Youth Shelter of Westchester spent the day at Regeneron as part of the company’s Day for
Doing Good.  The day usually includes a competitive game of touch football testing the skills of the young men against a (slightly older) team of Regeneron employees and BYSC staff members.  And while rain pushed us indoors this year, we still managed to enjoy some competitive games of cornhole!

In addition to the competition, the day also provided the young men with an opportunity to learn about the work of Regeneron’s which, as the company puts it, “uses the power of science to bring medicines to patients in need.”  We took a tour of the labs, got a chance to speak to some of the scientists about their current experiments and even got a chance to meet Archie (the lab’s pet turtle).

The day ended with, what else, a lunch of pizza and soft drinks.  As always, many thanks to the folks at Regeneron for hosting us and to Volunteer New York (and Charles Curtis) for making the day such a success.
