  • Lets Hear it for The “Amazing“ Cheerleaders

    Spirits run high one afternoon a week at Edward Williams Elementary School in Mt. Vernon for more than 20 girls who are learning all the moves of a cheerleader, from general shouting chants to dance moves and mastering the pyramid. All of this involves teamwork with each other and their coaches. The formidable team that works with these children are from the Scarsdale High School Varsity cheerleading squad who teach as well strive to be positive role models. Samantha Abbe, Co-captain of the Varsity Scarsdale squad, and leads the group has found the experience rewarding and hopes to help these girls gain confidence and “Girl Power”! “This is not just about coaching, but about building relationships and lasting friendships and hopefully giving good advice”.
