To reach more children in the Port Chester school district, The Carver Center has invited BYSC to provide multi- sport after school programs at the local grammar and middle schools. This was made possible through additional funding to the Carver Center by the Port Chester Board of Education. With the ability to bring the sports directly to the schools instead of busing to the Carver Center, the program will grow from serving 150 children in past years to over 600 district-wide. The on-site programming began in October and will run throughout the school year staffed by BYSC coaches and peer mentor volunteers from Rye Country Day School.
