A Bounty of Bicycles Give Kids Something to Smile About

For the second year in a row, Backyard Sports Cares collaborated with Foundation for Life to give deserving kids one of the most basic staples of childhood, a bicycle. We presented a soccer clinic and distributed bicycles to 20 youngsters from the Coachmen Center in White Plains, NY.  Assisting the efforts were Backyard Sports volunteers, Harrison Ray, Alex Quill, and Spencer Danzig.  For many of the children, this represented their first bicycle.  Backyard Sports coaches facilitated several warm up activities and soccer games and assisted with the children’s “first ride.”  View pictures from the event on our Facebook page here.

The bicycles were donated by Foundations for Life (a not for profit funded by the Barnum Financial Group).  Dereck Metz and three colleagues from the organization also participated in the event.
