“Everyone remembers their first bicycle,” says Danny Bernstein, Director, Backyard Sports Cares. “And here are kids who haven’t had the opportunity to get their first bike. The fact that the community can come together, engage these youngsters in play, watch them have fun and then share in their joy as they take home their first bike, marks a truly special moment.”
The event was hosted on the grounds of Wartburg, a healthcare and nursing facility in Mount Vernon. Kids from the Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club were brought to the location under the pretense of a day of sports and activity play with Backyard Sports. After the activities came to a close, Foundation for Life executed the big bike reveal to rowdy cheers and a crowd of happy kids and families.
