In recognition of the enriching multi-sport afterschool programming that Backyard Sports Cares (BYSC) provides for the White Plains Youth Bureau and the organization’s Bits and Pieces summer camp, Backyard Sports Cares was honored with a video presentation, including heartfelt testimonials of admiration and appreciation for its programs.

“After five years of working together with the White Plains Youth Bureau, I am grateful for a partnership that continues to strengthen the foundation of our community by challenging and nurturing the physical and emotional needs of our children,” said Danny Bernstein, founder and president, Backyard Sports Cares.

Emceed by Erica Hill, co-anchor of NBC’s “Weekend Today”, the gala hosted hundreds of guests and local dignitaries at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on November 5th. The Youth Bureau’s programs have long supported at risk kids and kept them on the road to success. Just ask the 30+ police officers on the job at the White Plains Police Department who are graduates of the Bureau’s programs.

“Since its inception, the White Plains Youth Bureau has provided programming that enables youth to apply their energy and nurture their talents, develop new skills and become good citizens and competent leaders of the 21st century,” said Mayor Thomas Roach.

BYSC friends and family filled seven tables at the beautiful venue and delighted in supporting their favorite organization.
