Teenage residents of the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester, an alternative to incarceration program located in Mt. Vernon, participated in an early evening lacrosse program led by BYSC volunteers, Dylan Cannell and Daniel Jaffe of Scarsdale.
The teen leaders, both students and varsity players at the Masters School, led their teen teammates in a variety of instructional drills and modified games. The program took place at the Mt. Vernon Underdome and Boulder Brook Field in Scarsdale. Most of the residents never played lacrosse but were quick to pick up the skills and enjoyed the gameplay.
We are looking for additional high school athletes to lead programs with the shelter in a sport of their choosing. Please email Danny Bernstein at email@example.com if you are interested.
